Rhythm patterns and the rhythm box

A rhythm pattern is a small group of hits that keeps coming back. In a rhythm box you program it yourself: bass drum, snare drum and hi-hat on and between the beats.

Secondary, first stageAges 11 to 15Draft: Not yet checked by a music teacher.

Why

How can you tell after two seconds whether something is rock, a march or a dance track?

Music repeats short patterns. A drummer often plays the same thing for two bars and then starts again. It is exactly that repetition that makes you move along.

If you can count a pattern, you can also make one yourself: with your hands, on a drum or in a rhythm box.
